Bard Santner Microfinance Bank

About Us

Banking should help people move forward.

Bard Santner was founded in 2022 with a simple purpose: to make financial services more accessible, more practical and more valuable for the people and businesses we serve.

Our Story

We started with one belief: banking should help people move forward.

Founded 2022Diversified group to microfinance bankDigital-first

And from a diversified financial institution, we have evolved into a microfinance bank.

For too long, banking has expected people to fit around its systems. Long queues. Slow approvals. Endless paperwork. Limited access. Banking became something people had to work around instead of something that worked for them.

We believed there was a better way. So we set out to build a different kind of financial institution, one that combines trusted financial expertise with modern technology to make banking simpler, faster and more accessible for everyone.

Whether you're opening your first account, growing a business, financing a new opportunity or moving money across borders, banking should help you move forward, not hold you back.

Our Manifesto

Every institution has a history. Ours has a conviction.

Bard Santner was founded in 2022 because we believed financial services could be better. As we evolved from a diversified financial institution into a digital-first microfinance bank, one thing never changed: our purpose.

We exist to challenge the way banking has always been done, and to build something that works better for the people and businesses we serve.

Our manifesto is more than words on a page. It is the standard we hold ourselves to. It shapes every product we build, every decision we make and every relationship we form, because we believe banking should create opportunity, build confidence and enrich lives.

This is what we stand for.

Board of Directors

Named, accountable, reachable.

Vinod Bussawah

Independent Non-Executive Chairman

Vinod has spent over 25 years proving that governance and ambition aren't opposites. An FCCA with an MBA in Finance and a Diploma in Corporate Governance, he has held senior management roles across Mauritius and the region, building a reputation for exacting standards without losing the commercial edge. His membership of the Mauritius Institute of Directors and registration with the Mauritius Institute of Public Accountants aren't just credentials — they signal that the Chairman of the Board holds himself, and everyone around the table, to the highest standards.

Roger Bennett

Independent Non-Executive Director

Roger Bennett has spent 40 years turning trust into an institution. He founded Fortress Management Services on the Isle of Man in 1994 with just two staff and built it into an international firm with real UK reach. He cut his teeth at Lloyds Bank and later ran trust operations across the Bahamas for Canada Trust and CIBC. A qualified lawyer since 1973, his loyal, worldwide client base is proof that old-school integrity still wins new business. And with his son now shaping Fortress' next chapter, the legacy continues.

Peter Wood

Independent Non-Executive Director

Peter Wood has spent 40 years where most bankers fear to tread — deep in corporate banking, precious metal mining and offshore structuring that most would call too complex to touch. A Commissioner of Oaths who has chaired a bank holding company, he built his reputation solving the funding puzzles that stalled others, unlocking major mining developments in the process. Peter is a big-picture thinker, unafraid of complexity and armed with a network few can match. He is the kind of director who opens doors others didn't know existed.

Dr. Roshan Boodhoo

Independent Non-Executive Director

Few directors arrive with a regulator's rulebook and a dealmaker's instinct. Dr. Roshan Boodhoo does both, having begun his career at Barclays Bank before rising to lead Mauritius' Financial Services Commission, where he represented Africa on the IOSCO Board and sat on the National Sanctions Committee. He now sits as a Director of NASDAQ-listed StoneBridge Acquisition Corp. II, having steered its USD 50 million IPO. He also holds board seats at Clarence International Bank and Gulf Investment. A Doctorate in Management, an Executive MBA and Singapore's 2025 Leadership in Financial Compliance Award summarise a career built on discipline, not luck.

Niazi Hoolash

Independent Non-Executive Director

Niazi Hoolash built his name inside the 'Big Four', then decided the real work happens outside it. After serving as Senior Manager and Head of Special Situations at KPMG and spending time at PwC, he founded his own boutique deals advisory firm in 2023, focused on energy, banking, telecoms, healthcare and mining. His work — helping the giants through restructuring, forensic investigations and high-stakes strategy. Six years as CFO of an international airline sharpened his instinct for pressure. A Fellow of the ACCA and a voice on its Mauritius Network Panel, he now pushes clients toward AI and distributed ledger technology before their competitors catch on.

Senziwani Sikhosana

Non-Executive Director

Senziwani has spent over two decades in the trenches of treasury, forex and fixed income — the parts of banking where instinct meets discipline. An Associate Chartered Management Accountant with a Master's in Finance, he doesn't just understand markets, he reads them. His specialised grounding in Asset Liability Management makes him the kind of director boards call on when the numbers get complicated and the stakes get real.

Tatenda Hungwe

Non-Executive Director

Tatenda has chased returns across three countries and never slowed down. Over 15 years in Wealth Management, Derivatives Trading and Private Equity — spanning Zimbabwe, South Africa and the UAE — have given him a trader's nerve and a strategist's patience. An Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, he holds himself to standards most only claim to meet, bringing sharp, market-tested thinking to every table he joins.

Lucia Chingwaru-Mutsunge

Non-Executive Director

Lucia has built her career where precision matters most: conventional banking, money transfer operations and the accounting detail that keeps institutions honest. A Chartered Accountant with 15 years in the field, she holds a Bachelor of Financial Management and an ACCA qualification — credentials that back a reputation for getting the numbers right when it counts. Her governance instincts make her a steady hand in a fast-moving industry.

Ngonidzashe Chikowore

Managing Director

Ngoni has spent 20 years in capital markets where deals are made or broken. He has led IPOs, secondary offerings, private placements and complex debt structuring for government and private clients alike, building the kind of network that turns ambition into execution. A Master of Science in Finance and Investment from NUST and a Bachelor's from the University of Zimbabwe back a career built on relationships as much as results — with quasi-government and public-sector players trusting him precisely because he delivers.

Givemore Gomo

Finance Director

Givemore doesn't just report the numbers, he defends them. With 15 years across banking and FMCG, he's built a reputation for clean audits, tight budget discipline and financial insight sharp enough to guide a boardroom's biggest decisions. Deep knowledge of IFRS, RBZ Prudential Guidelines and ZIMRA requirements sits alongside a Bachelor of Accountancy Honours and certifications from the Institute of Bankers, ICSAZ and CAZ. Currently advancing through CIMA's Finance Leadership Programme, Givemore is building not just a career, but a culture of control others can rely on.

Monika Bhatt

Independent Non-Executive Director

Monika Bhatt does more than advise on corporate law — she builds the infrastructure companies stand on. Founder of M/s Monika Bhatt and Associates, she has spent over eight years constructing a formidable network across India's corporate legal landscape. Her experience runs deep across Corporate Insolvency Resolution Advisory, Legal and Secretarial Audit and Corporate Governance Advisory. A postgraduate in Commerce and a law degree from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya back her expertise, while her association with Zimbabwe's Corporate Governance Institute extends her reach into new markets. She brings precision where most see paperwork.
